NIGHTMARES ON WAX presents WAX ON records vol. 2

Yep, that’s right: after the worldwide success of this label showcases’ 1st edition last summer and the pro active bunch of outstanding WAX ON recording artists (like GELKA, GUTS, and NEGGHEAD e.g.) embarking on respective solo journeys, it’s about time for round two… bringing more musical substance to your area.

WAX ON records has shaped up to become a healthy, vibrant and well respected imprint for honest music, stirring up quite some dust on a lot of levels with impeccable releases. This time around, label boss E.A.S.E. (NIGHTMARES ON WAX) has not only gathered even more impressive musical talent, but also holds responsible for the final mixdown of a lot of tunes featured on this carefully nurtured collection of sonic highlights.

This, the 2nd volume of the WAX ON records label showcase, proves many things at once. Sure there’s butter beat magic and supreme lounging going on, provided by GELKA from Budapest and the legendary DEADBEATS… MARCEL, JD73 and BENJI BOKO represent with class and style, too… same counts for the mysteriously seductive sounds of INKLIING, crackling with sonic beauty and oozin’ jazz essences.

Whoever thought it would be easy though to pidgeonhole a label run by NIGHTMARES ON WAX is challenged now to really think again. The latest addition to WAX ON’s artist roster for example, predator sound master HUNGRYGHOST, is causing quite some heat in the global dubstep and grime community… fair enough! NEGGHEAD from Leeds set the sails to conquer the dancefloor of future soul kingdom with advanced phusion beats coming a little larger than usual… remember, it’s tomorrow already!

Still there are more exclusive treats to be discovered: check out the wicked „indietronic meets zapp“ vibes of Brooklyn based producer KRTS… the silky voice and unmatched soul power of former ZERO7 crooner MOZEZ… the beautiful ballad qualities of Roots Manuva henchman / Nightmares On Wax vocalist RICKY RANKING (backed by E.A.S.E. himself alongside N.O.W. keyboard wizard Robin Taylor-Firth…).

All in all, there’s a huge amount of soul, a lot of pleasant surprises and quite some edge to this carefully nurtured label showcase. And so, NIGHTMARES ON WAX presents WAX ON records vol. 2 is keeping all the promises… and at the same time showcases the musical evolution of a label that’s build to last.
