When dj dons and international tastemakers from all sorts of musical fields give mad props & full support for sounds crafted by two young men in their early 20s, those young men must have come up with something extra deep & truly genre bending as well.

And indeed, they did it again: Robbert van der Bildt & Bobby van Putten aka THE PLANTY HERBS follow up on last years "Music is the word/Disco 2080" with the amazing OUTPUT EP... five tracks of sheer goodness. Fueled by severe instinct, playful creativity and impeccable musicianship - and with a little help from good friends such as Tom Veugen (pedal steel guitar) & Marlon Penn (add. vocals) on "Amoroso" as well as Nienke Lohuis (vocals) and Robin Rombouts (trumpet) on the drum'n'bass infused title track "Output" - THE PLANTY HERBS deliver like only THE PLANTY HERBS can.

So whats the word then: Cosmic Disco? Downtempo? Deep House? TechDub? Post-Nu Jazz? Blah. Since that certain amount of nosey itch rules at their homebase "The Garden Studio" in Tilburg/The Netherlands, catching up with THE PLANTY HERBS also means "catch them if you can". "We don't usually stick to certain things. Music evolves and so does our musical taste." 

Both their infamous "beat tape series" as well as their latest mixtapes "Sunday's RPM" and "The Settlers of The Planty Herbs" are further proof of that certain versatility thats more like an additional skill. as new zealands newly crowned "THRE3STYLE" dj champion, rodi aka SCRATCH 22 will be representing as one of the international finalists of the infamous RED BULL THRE3STYLE competition, going down at Élysée Montmartre in PARIS (F) on the 9th of december.

Red Bull Thre3style is an international dj battle event series of a special kind, where new zealand’s finalist will compete against the winners from twelve other countries: argentina, belgium, brazil, canada, columbia, france, japan, spain, sweden, switzerland, USA and the united kingdom.

with his own radio show 'the lion for real' (broadcasting fridays from 12-2 PM on NZ station BASE FM), and his monthly club night THE ARC as well as a tight production schedule for various bands & projects from many diverse genres, SCRATCH 22 might be young yet he is anything else but a newcomer to the game - maybe that is also why not too long ago, WAX ON records picked his sensationally dope b boy tune "ani kuni" for vol. 3 of the "NIGHTMARES ON WAX presents WAX ON records" compilation.
