About WAX ON records

George Evelyn aka DJ E.A.S.E., the positive force behind NIGHTMARES ON WAX, obviously knows a lot about musical honesty. And so it comes as no surprise that the man decided to take the next step to complete artistic freedom by creating his very own label imprint: WAX ON records. 5 years in the making now & going strong... phase 2 has begun!

"The basic idea behind WAX ON is to deliver quality music with that certain 'soul factor' and, for that purpose, to create a network of unknown, or known artists, djs, singers/MCs, producers and musicians alike," George explains. "In the strong belief that when you have creative people all pulling in the same direction, something special is gonna happen."

During Nightmares' extensive and deep journey into sound over the past two decades, George met quite a few individuals broadcasting on his wavelength soundwise: intense production headz and spiritual music lovers from around the globe who all share a common vision of timeless"now" music that draws from a rich background. In a wide open (and ever expanding) space where Funk, Soul, Afrobeat, Reggae and Jazz heritage meet 3rd generation b-boy culture, urban lifestyle, electronic attitude and digital evolution, anything is possible. Some of the finest and most talented producers from that field are gathering for good on WAX ON Records. Hand picked, nurtured and supported (in one way or another) by George and his crew, the label roster includes stand out artists like retroactive future funksters JD 73 and NEGGHEAD from England, french fried beat scientist GUTS, Budapest supersonic sound sensations GELKA and MARCEL, Brighton's purple funky monkey BENJI BOKO, groovalistic lounge heroes THE DEADBEATS, senor RAPSCALLION from Tallahassee/Florida. Latest additions to the labels' artist roster are HUNGRYGHOST(providing his trademark predator beats inna futuristic stylee) and dutch producer youth THE PLANTY HERBS.

"We have a lot of plans and way more great sounds in the pipeline" George says and smiles. "WAX ON has already come up with quite a few surprises and amazing creative work, perfectly mirroring my musical attitude and taste. I am happy and thrilled to be able to present WAX ON records as a healthy, open minded and vibrant playground for the inner musical child of likeminded souls who share my vision ... and I sure share theirs."

With 2 weekly events (WAX DA JAM @ AURA and WAX DA BEACH @ KUMHARAS) during summer season on the lovely islandof Ibiza plus the weekly radio show WAX DA BOX (thursdays 6-7pm CET worldwide via ibizasonica.com) hosted by NIGHTMARES ON WAX, the WAX ON records crew keeps their fans & followers 'in the loop' constantly... here's to the next 5 years of a label thats build to last... music is the word!
